Show and Tell: Emily’s Tree

jewelry christmas tree

Emily credits her innovative, nostalgic and slightly glamorous mini Christmas tree to a) having a small space shared with roommates, and b) heading to her “real” home for the holidays. “So I decorate with a vintage button-and-earring tree, and presents,” she says. “My great grandmother had a similar one that I loved when I was little.”

Sounds and looks good to us! Emily purchased the base for her jewelry tree at a thrift store, but she supplied this link on eBay for the rest of us wanting to make a copycat or two. Then she covered every last inch of it with buttons and pearls and earrings she’s scouted out.

Thanks for sharing, Emily! So cool and creative and truly one-of-a-kind. We’re in love.

Update: OK, so Emily let us know that she didn’t exactly make the tree herself. She bought it as-is and gave it some updating and filling-in where needed … but who’s to say she couldn’t have done it just the way we said she did? Go for it.

Oooh this is a good way to use all my mom’s 50s-70s buttons she has stuffed away in an old sewing box! Thanks for the idea!!!

Oh! I love it. I have one that my grandparents made together out of old costume jewelry and broken green glass soda bottles. I think it is so beautiful, and it reminds me of my grandparents.
