OK. So you didn’t get any tickets to see the shows at Sundance, at least not any of the cinematic variety. We won’t hold it against you; it ain’t easy.
It is easy, however, to get your bundled body to Park City on Thursday night where bands Of Montreal, Shiny Toy Guns and West Indian Girl take the stage on lower Main Street. The set runs from 6 to 9:30 p.m. and this time, no tickets necessary.
Granted, the hardest part of the gig will be finding a place to ditch your ride. We recommend parking at any of the lots near Albertsons (3151 Kilby Rd.). Though you might have to pay around $10 for parking (bring cash, unless you’re able to find a spot to parallel on a side street) all of the public transit buses in Park City are free. Just walk to the closest bus stop, and it’s up to Main Street you go for a night of free rock n’roll, fashionable eye candy, beautiful people-watching and star sightings.
What more could a hip, modern girl ask for? Hot chocolate? We’re sure you’ll be able to find that, too.

if you can’t make it to one of these shows, check out 24tix.com. Great aggregator or local shows in SLC. I think I have a list of 10 I want to see including Badly Drawn boy and TV on the Radio.

I have a friend who says Badly Drawn Boy was the best live show she’s been to. It’s also good to check out Pollstar.com and “search by city.” You can’t buy tickets there, but you can see who’s coming. I’m looking forward to The Shins on the 16th. I just bought their new album today.
