Dedicated: Jamie Sampson Photography
It’s the conundrum every mom finds herself in on Photo Day: What to put the kid(s) in for their big moment? You could spend hours and dollars on the just-right outfit and hairdo and all that hullabaloo … or skip much of the headache and choose Jamie Sampson as your next photographer. This Utah gal’s idea of fun includes scouting out twee locations, props and accessories for upcoming shoots—so her clients don’t have to. You just provide the cute kid. Easy enough.
Happy, fun, and youthful, Jamie’s images are especially cute and bright. Despite their being well-styled and thought-out, the photos tend to come off as natural rather than over-posed. That’s because, as Jamie says, “I like the little things … the joy of jumping on the bed … the amazed smile that comes when they see the huge sucker they get to eat.”
The combination of photographic style and photographic vision is a sweet one. If you’re outside the Beehive State, don’t fret. Jamie frequents San Francisco, Los Angeles and New York for her clients on a regular basis.

I love the sweet simplicity yet classic elegance of these photos. My sweet little boy is 21 months old and always on the move which makes it difficult for me to capture all of his tenderness in a good photo. I would love the opportunity for Jamie to photograph him. :)

Her pictures are amazing! I’ve wanted to get my baby’s picture taken, but not by a photo place where the shoot result in pictures that are so boring and predictable. Her approach is so cool! And the fact that she gives a lot of thought about location and props makes working with her that much more appealing.

I love Jamie’s work! Check out her blog, her images are just amazing – the locations, angles, lighting – flawless. I’ve had some portraits of my daughter done at another (very expensive!) studio, but now that I’ve discovered Jamie I’ll book her in the future. I prefer more natural poses, pictures that look like they are just capturing a slice of life over the contrived poses other photographers use.

Wow! She is a talented photographer…and is really able to capture each child she photographs. I can’t get enough of her website. My youngest is just about to turn 1 (on Sunday!), is absolutely adorable (and photogenic!), has the most mild and happy personality (thank goodness!), and has NEVER been photographed professionally. Blame it on my busy job and life. The kid needs to have his cuteness documented, though, before he becomes a much louder and smellier boy (like my 5 year old…still adorable, though!). Ahhh…what a refreshing take on photography… Real and beautiful. I have a 5 year old and 9 month old and have managed to cheat my 2nd out of her day in the spotlight. I would attempt myself but you try to get one to hold still and “freeze” the smile while the 9 month old has decided she has better things to do than sit there and have her picture made. How nice it would be to relax and have someone else express their talent on my beautiful girls. I would be so thrilled to be chosen….
