Other suggestions: Try a pumpkin-flavored concrete at Nielsen’s Frozen Custard (3918 Highland Drive, Holladay; and 570 W. 2600 South, Bountiful), cruise by Taco Time for a pumpkin enpanada, carve up a jack-o-lantern and toast the seeds for a popcorn substitute during your slasher flick, and then read about or head to any of Utah’s haunted locations … if you dare.

I phoned Nielsen’s the other day to make sure they still had pumpkin custard left that day–I hear it goes fast. Well, apparently they aren’t making it anymore because of an issue with their supplier. Darn! Next year I’ll have to stop by sooner in the holiday season. I’ve heard it’s delish.
