Check It Out

Finch of Salt Lake: Beginning this weekend, painter Chelsea James puts up her latest for your viewing pleasure. Join the kick-off party tomorrow from 6 – 8 p.m. at Finch Lane Gallery (1325 E. 100 South, Salt Lake City). The show of Interior Paintings will go on through September 11.
More Market: The Salt Lake Farmer’s Market is extending its hours (and days). Starting on Tuesday and each Tuesday thereafter, you can shop for strawberries and salsa from 4 – 8 p.m. The market continues through October 13 at Pioneer Park. Proof here.
Made in UT: It’s hard to say no to dancing Kevin Bacons and cowboyed-up Robert Redfords. Starting this Friday, the Pioneer Park Picture Show starts up with “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid” and “Footloose” the following Friday—both filmed in our fair state. There’s a craft market with wares from locals, too. Get the full lineup and times here.
At the Park: Park City lures you into the mountain air this weekend with the 40th Annual Park City Kimball Arts Festival on Saturday and Sunday, as well as the Summit County Fair, starting Saturday through August 8 featuring the usual suspects: derbys, dog shows, hypnotists, barrel-racing and lastly but not leastly, a rodeo.

I’ve been meaning to check out the Farmer’s Market but it always slips my mind because it’s so close. I really need to make it a priority this weekend!
