Check It Out

Picture Show: The movie hasn’t been announced, but tomorrow marks your last chance to get your summer on at the Pioneer Picture Show and Craft Market. You can peruse local-made gifts from 6 – 9 p.m., and watch a filmed-in-Utah flick at dusk. Details here.
In Mmmusic: As for tunes this week, you can listen in on Robert Randolph and the Family Band with Black Joe Lewis and the Honeybears tonight at the Gallivan Center. Or, try Band of Annuals next week at Urban Lounge or Modest Mouse at In the Venue. More info via Lacey’s Music Guide.
Recently: Anne Christensen of the New York Times blog dished about Salt Lake City’s Decades vintage clothing store on State Street earlier this month. We’ve always soaked in their uncanny shoe/boot collection, but Anne scored a Gucci blouse. Jealous. Read the post here.
On Broadway: Films taking the big screen at the Broadway Theater this week include “Paper Heart,” “Adam,” “500 Days of Summer,” and “Food, Inc.,” to name a few. Why Broadway? Two words: San Pellegrino Limonata. And they’ll deliver your food to you mid-movie, if necessary. Show times here.

I need new boots so Decades sounds perfect. And…I love Robert Randolph and the Family Band. I heard him when he opened for Dave Matthews Band — very cool.
Also, this weekend a new cupcakery opens in Layton. It’s called CutsieCakes! Thought you may want to know! I’m very excited. It opened today: http://utahlovescupcakes.com/2009/08/25/cutsiecakes-opens-this-thursday-in-layton/

I love Decades! I got married this summer and I found my wedding dress there which was great cause I am a big sucker for vintage and I was so happy to incorporate that into my wedding.

I think there’s something going on at the Capitol tomorrow. It had something to do with free food, games and an outdoor movie. It’s an all day event!
WOOT for decades! I love that place.
