All For Now
Dear readers,
After more than three years of sharing our favorite—mostly local—treasures with you, it’s time for YHO to take an indefinite break. Work has never been so much fun, and yet, we find ourselves too geographically and financially challenged to keep this project moving forward for the time being. If you would like to stay updated, be sure to follow us on Twitter and Facebook.
In the meantime, if you’re in need of a lifestyle writer or editor, don’t hesitate to e-mail ali (at) yourheartout.com. (She writes most of the stuff around here, unless otherwise noted. And she’s used to writing about herself in the third person, in case you were wondering.)
Please, continue to keep up with all of the gang by visiting our sites and blogs.
We remain your faithful Utahphiles. We’re really gonna miss you.
Ali & the YHO crew

Sad :( You will definitely be missed!
January 8th, 2010 at 10:58 am
NOOOOOOOOO! I feel like a little piece of me has died. YHO was my connection to the motherland, the only place that made me feel like SLC was legitimately cool. Sigh. Thank you for the good times, the fun projects, the restaurant reviews that always made my mother ask “How is it that you’ve been in MOSCOW for a year and you know about these restaurants that just barely opened?!” and the general love.
I heart YHO.
January 8th, 2010 at 11:07 am
You will be missed. I loved YHO because it wasn’t the “typical” blog. Thanks for keeping this site going for so long.
January 8th, 2010 at 11:35 am
Wow, I never thought this day would come. I hope that you come back to us soon. I honestly have used your site to help me with so many decisions. From where to eat, to finding great stores…YHO even gave me my first happy hair cut moment in years! Knowing that I could trust the taste on this blog just made my life easier. You’ve been a great resource. Will the site be up incase we need to check back through old posts for music, stores etc.? If you should decide to publish into a little book / guide please know that I would pick one up in a heartbeat!
I guess all that’s left to say is thank you.
THANK YOU!
January 8th, 2010 at 11:37 am
So sorry to hear! YHO was always the first blog I read when I opened my computer. It’s an amazing resource for SLC and it’s daunting to think that now I’ll have to find the best places to eat and shop on my own. Thank you for all your time and energy, best of wishes to all the contributors.
January 8th, 2010 at 12:52 pm
Thanks Your Heart Out for being a tremendous resource and inspiration. You’re one of my favorite blogs and have set such a high standard in the world of blogging. You will definitely be missed!
January 8th, 2010 at 12:59 pm
Break my heart! Your Heart Out has been one of my very few “daily reads” and I’ve really loved learning about all the great new places to visit. I will miss you. Thanks for putting on such a great show for so long.

January 8th, 2010 at 2:44 pm
Sad! Why do you have someone else step in a write for you? I am sure there is someone who would love to do so and to help with their time and financial means!
January 8th, 2010 at 3:09 pm
Oh noooooo!
How am I going to find cool places, great shopping, current events, and everything else available in this city that’s still so foreign to me?
I’m going to miss this site SO MUCH!

How am I supposed to pretend to be hip and aware of everything that goes on in this city without YHO?
This blog has been the most amazing resource and as all of the above comments attest, it will be sorely missed!
I completely agree that the archives should be turned into a little city guide, I would buy one in a heart beat!
Thanks so much for everything you have put into this truly one of a kind blog! We hope you return to us soon.

Ali,
This is devastating! What will I do with out my YHO. I was a daliy reader and now there will be a large void in my internet meanderings. Thanks for all the great recommendations, you will be sorely missed!
January 11th, 2010 at 5:03 pm
Noooo! Please don’t go. We love you. I still read often even though I moved away from Utah two years ago. I have tried out so many shops and restaurants on your recommendation…I even won a pair of Ryka running shoes from your site that I use all the time. Of all of the blogs I read (and I read a TON of them) this is one of the absolute best. Thank you for sharing everything you have with us! You will be missed indeed.

So so so sad! And just as I was moving back to Utah! You can’t say you didn’t warn us though, your site is called “Your heart out”–I just thought it meant something other than, “We will eventually rip your heart out.” Ha ha. Bummer for us though. So long, and thanks for all the fish!
January 28th, 2010 at 12:16 pm
Horrible. I LOVE this blog. It’s the only one I ever read. Thanks so much for filling me in on my community of goodness and creativity. I really appreciate all the time and research done to enhance my own fun and sense of belonging in Utah. Peace.
